Adam Chanler-Berat, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Christian Borle and the original off-Broadway cast of Peter and the Starcatcher are set to return to the show for its upcoming Broadway transfer. The Broadway mounting, co-directed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, begins performances on March 28 and will open April 15 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
Chanler-Berat (Next to Normal, Rent) returns as Boy, while Celia Keenan-Bolger (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Merrily We Roll Along) will reprise her role as Molly. Borle (TV's Smash, Legally Blonde) takes on the role of fearsome pirate Black Stache. Other returning cast members include Teddy Bergman (Seven Minutes in Heaven), Arnie Burton (The 39 Steps), Matt D’Amico (Fizz), Kevin Del Aguila (Jacques Brel...), Carson Elrod (Reckless), Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) and David Rossmer (Don’t Quit Your Night Job). Newly added cast members are Isaiah Johnson (The Merchant of Venice), Betsy Hogg (Fiddler on the Roof), Orville Mendoza (Pacific Overtures), Jason Ralph (All's Well That Ends Well) and John Sanders.
Adapted by Rick Elice from the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, Peter and the Starcatcher features a company of 12 actors portraying some 50 characters, all on a journey to answer the question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Refused To Grow Up? The show played a sold-out run at off-Broadway's New York Theater Workshop during the spring of 2011.
The entire creative team will reunite for the Broadway production, including Wayne Barker (music), Steven Hoggett (movement), Marco Paguia (music direction), Donyale Werle (scenic design), Paloma Young (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design) and Darron L. West (sound design).
